Kern River July 24-26

Message me if you are going

We will be camping at an over flow campsite call Chamise Flat Campground

Campsite is next to the river. They will have a porta potty.
No camp fires-it’s fire season.

You will need a tube to go down the river

You can get one at Big5 River Tube
Get a life jacket too, if its chill you won’t need to wear it, but they are great to sit on so your butt doesn’t hit a rock.

Campsites are first come.

I’m going up Thursday night

Easiest way to get there

Look up on your map and drive to:
James Sierra Gateway Markets
13432 Sierra Way
Kernville, CA 93238

Directions should take you through Bakersfield and through Lake Isabela.

Note: once you start down the road, cell service goes in and out.
At the market zero out your milage. Now continue down Sierra Way, it turns into Mountain 99. Go for 13.2 miles. You will see a dirt entrance entrance on your left side, there is no sign. If you miss it there is a second entrance. The campsite is about 3-3.5 hours from LA.

Along the way there you will pass other campgrounds, don’t get confused.
If you end up at McNallys restaurant you have gone about a mile too far.

You can also enter this into your maps: 35.91134° N, 118.48678° W

You will be coming from the bottom, you can see two entrances marked with arrows
